January & February 2014

Denis Tricot at Nymans Garden, Handcross, West Sussex

Sculpture and Fire Installation to live music

Daytime installation & night time event

French artist Denis Tricot gently transforms landscapes and buildings with his elegant wooden sculptural installations. His method is simple: using long flexible planks of poplar wood he builds lines, waves and arches that weave their way through streets, squares and parks. Inspired by the architecture that surrounds them; his sculptures forge memorable pathways of flowing curves, gently turning the familiar sites into temporary art galleries, ‘sculpting the air’ as Denis Tricot himself calls it. The sculpture installation can be seen in the gardens and house at Nymans from January 9 until February 19th.

Cholmondeley Productions: Ladies and Gentlemen

A beguiling and jocular soiree of magic, music and dance.

Besieged by an ever shifting and bewildering miscellany of inscrutable and enigmatic props, the last sorry remnants of a legendary music hall family doggedly endeavour to reconstruct fragments of misremembered routines and hazily recollected punch-lines, in a hopeless attempt to revive their all but forgotten Music Hall act.

  • Choreography and direction: Lea Anderson
  • Performers: Gareth Clark, Lauren Lee-Jones, Belinda Neave, Marega Palser, Caroline Sabin and Bert Van Gorp
  • Words, music and musical direction: Steve Blake
  • Design: Tim Spooner
