Athletes of the Heart is an ideas-driven production company created by Anna Furse in 2003. Devoted to transgressing boundaries both disciplinary and geographical, current projects reflect her interest in the effect technology is having on ordinary lives as well as her ongoing passion for refusing to carve a distinction between theatre of spoken words and the theatre of the body, hence an abiding interest in working with artists from Europe and Eastern Europe.
All productions
strive to create vivid embodied theatre and strong narrative content where
the performer’s physicality is raw and expressive and the poetry of
theatre as a live medium is celebrated.
