An absolute pleasure – I can’t think of a better way to spend £5. Who’d have ever thought story-telling could be so seductive?
The City of Lost Notes – in development
This project is a collaboration between White Rabbit and Marcella Puppini.
Following the success of Are You Sitting Comfortably, the acclaimed sell-out performance story telling event, White Rabbit will create a new theatrical show of new tales for the new millennium, with live original music by Marcella and her orchestra THE FORGET ME NOTS. – the narratives will unfold through performance, spoken word and music.
The stories will be inspired by urban myths, “true” tall tales found on the internet, in newspapers and contemporary mysteries. They will mythologize and celebrate the times we live in with humour and pathos, whilst referencing and being influenced by classic fairytales and myths.

White Rabbit is Bernadette Russell and Gareth Brierley. They began Are You Sitting Comfortably? In 2008 at Toynbee Studios, inspired by a shared love of short stories and the radio show “Listen With Mother.” They have written and performed for the shows every month, and have included the work of over 60 new writers, to sell out crowds at Toynbee Studios and also at The Basement in Brighton. Each month they focus on a broad theme (Gothic, Anarchy, Magic, Love etc) and accompany the stories with beautiful visuals, free cupcakes, a great playlist and party games. They encourage fancydress, and celebrate short fiction and the art of storytelling in a theatrical setting. They have a developing relationship with online publishers Ether Books, and an album of short stories “White Rabbit Tales” shortly to be released on itunes, produced by the BBC. They are collaborating with House of Fairytales on “All Washed Up” a story telling installation for children (Thames Festival).
