UK Tour Spring 2008 3 April - 14 May Co-commissioned
by ROH2 at The Royal Opera House, Click here for full tour schedule and ticket information ‘Woman and wood whirl round each other like lovers, and with such beauty and precision that it catches at the heartstrings.’ Donald Hutera The Times Multiple viewing experiences, multi-skilled performers and a chameleon-like set combine to create an aerial performance like no other. Artistic director and performer Lindsey Butcher alongside Guy Adams, Vanessa Cook, Jenny Paterson and Scott Smith partner a set (designed by Mish Weaver) which takes on a life of its own. Choreographers Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas (Stomp co-creators), the intensely physical Charlotte Vincent (Vincent Dance Theatre) and sublimely lyrical Charles Linehan, add their highly individual choreographic and directorial voices and choices to the mix, cohesively brought together with the aid of Kevin Finnan (Motionhouse). Live and composed music accompanies this daring and captivating performance where the set takes on its own journey, moving from ground-based solidity, through a measured outburst into space and air, to a point of disarray. Audiences are welcome to sit, stand or wander around the performance space as landscapes emerge and the dancefloor literally shifts before their eyes. www.gravity-levity.net |
